Banking fraud is becoming increasingly common in India, with new cases being reported on a daily basis.

Punjab National Bank (PNB) Fraud Case:
In February 2018, it was revealed that two jewellers had defrauded PNB of over Rs 11,000 crore by using fake Letters of Understanding (LoUs).
The Axis Bank Fraud Case:
In March 2018, it was reported that three individuals had cheated Axis Bank of Rs 60 crore through fraudulent transactions.
The HDFC Bank Fraud Case:
In April 2018, it was reported that four employees of HDFC Bank were arrested for their involvement in a Rs 1.3 crore fraud case.
The ICICI Bank Fraud Case:
In May 2018, it was reported that six people had been arrested for duping ICICI bank of Rs 2.17 crore through fraudulent credit card transactions.

In August 2018, it was reported that nine people were arrested for their involvement in a Rs 1,000 crore fraud case at State Bank of India (SBI).
The Allahabad Bank Fraud Case:
In September 2018, it was reported that 10 people were arrested for allegedly cheating Allahabad bank of Rs 1,200 crore through fraudulent loans and transactions.
The Dena Bank Fraud Case:
Also in September 2018, it was revealed that 11 people had cheated Dena bank of Rs 489 crore by availing themselves of fraudulent loans and credits cards.”
