The railways will establish 12 more nodes in near future, at Mumbai, Patna, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar to further improve the server performance.
A Request For Proposal (RFP) has been issued by Indian Railways for construction of high-speed servers. It will make sure that there is no failure in the system due to overload. There are total 5 phases in which the plan is going to executed. The first phase has been completed and second phase will become active by 31st March 2022.
Indian Railways have made a budget of 3,000 crore for this project. This money would be used to make WAN (Wide Area Network) where ticketing data would be transferred from their respective offices to local servers. This would reduce the dependency on the central server and make sure that there is no loss of data.
Indian Railways is planning to establish four more Local Ticket Booking Servers (LTBs) in Kolkata, Lucknow, Ahmedabad and Patna. They have also added one more in Mumbai to connect the CSTM and Dadar Terminus Local Ticket Booking Servers (LTBSs).
